Technology

How Falling Film Works

Feed is distributed uniformly at the top of vertical tubes where it falls as a thin film under gravity, while steam or vapour on the shell side provides heat. The thin film ensures rapid evaporation with very short product contact time. Falling film is the preferred heat exchanger type for MVR evaporators due to its low temperature-difference capability and high overall heat-transfer coefficient.
