Beyond Primary Treatment

Conventional ETP and RO systems still leave behind highly concentrated toxic reject streams that cannot be legally disposed of. Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) is a strategic wastewater management process that completely eliminates liquid discharge from a plant.

Rototech Engineering integrates thermal evaporation and solid-liquid separation technologies to process diverse high-TDS and high-COD effluents, turning environmental liabilities into recovered clean water and valuable byproducts.

The Rototech ZLD Train

1. Pre-Treatment & Integration

We analyze your effluent and integrate necessary RO membrane systems or Stripper Columns to handle initial volume reduction and VOC stripping efficiently.

2. Thermal Evaporation (MVR / MEE)

For high-TDS reject, our MVR or Multi-Effect Evaporators take over, evaporating up to 95% of the water with extreme energy efficiency, yielding pure condensate.

3. Drying & Crystallization (ATFD)

The highly concentrated liquor is finally fed into an Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) or crystalliser, converting the remaining brine into a dry, powder-like solid for safe disposal or salt recovery.

A standard Rototech ZLD plant typically includes a Stripper Column (for VOC/solvent removal), an MVR or Multi-Effect Evaporator (for concentration), and an Agitated Thin Film Dryer (ATFD) or Spray Dryer to convert the final concentrate into dry solids.

Our integrated ZLD systems are designed to recover 95% to 99% of processed wastewater. The recovered high-quality distillate or condensate is suitable for reuse in process cooling, boiler feed, or floor cleaning.
