Caustic Recovery Process Overview

Dilute NaOH (4–8% w/w) from mercerising range wash is collected in a feed tank, passed through a lint filter, and fed to a 3-effect MEE or MVR evaporator where it is concentrated to 15–20% w/w for reuse in the mercerising machine.

The hot condensate from evaporation is reused as wash water in the mercerising range, closing the water loop. Rototech integrates heat recovery from the mercerising steamer to further reduce steam consumption, making the process highly energy efficient.
