Rotary Dryer & Valve Overview

Rototech supplies rotary dryers for drying wet solids — such as minerals, chemicals, biomass, and sludge — in a rotating drum through which hot air or flue gas passes. Residence time, slope, and speed are tuned to moisture and throughput. Rotary valves (feeders) are used at the inlet or outlet of dryers, cyclones, and conveyors to provide controlled, gas-tight transfer of solids and maintain pressure differential — critical in pneumatic and drying systems.

Working Principle

Rotary dryer: Wet feed enters one end of a slightly inclined rotating drum. Hot gas flows co-current or counter-current. Lifters/flights tumble the material and expose it to the gas; moisture evaporates and is carried away. Dried product exits at the other end. Rotary valve: A rotor with pockets turns inside a housing. Material fills each pocket at the inlet and is discharged at the outlet, providing a seal between different pressure zones and metered flow.
